No. Ostend City Guide is an independent, English-language guide to staying, eating and things to do in Ostend (Oostende). The official city site is visitoostende.be — we add our own picks, honest price tiers, area comparisons and practical answers for visitors.

 How up to date is the information?

We check listings and note when each was last verified, and we review every change before it goes live. If you spot something wrong, please [let us know](/contact/) and we will fix it.

## Getting to Ostend and around

 How do I get to Ostend?

Ostend is on the Belgian coast, with direct trains from Brussels (about 1 hour 15 minutes) and easy connections from Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp. See [getting to Ostend by train](/practical/getting-to-ostend-by-train/), or fly into [Ostend-Bruges Airport](/practical/ostend-bruges-airport/).

 Where can I park in Ostend?

 How do I get around once I am there?

 Can I take my dog on the beach?

 When is the best time to visit Ostend?

 Do I need to book restaurants?

For popular and seafront places, at weekends and in summer, booking ahead is wise. Many listings have a reservation link.
