The Bar at The Ostendian

The Bar is the hotel bar of The Ostendian, a C-Hotels concept hotel on Oesterbankstraat, a short walk from Ostend station. It is designed as a throwback to the lively hotel bars of the 1970s and 1980s, and the hotel makes a point of welcoming Ostend locals and visitors as well as its own guests.

Expect a red neon sign over a counter lined with fringed bar stools, shelves of vinyl records behind the bar, velvet seating and record players with headphones at the tables. The soundtrack is soul and funk, and the bar serves cocktails, bar bites and what the hotel calls soul food.

The programme matters as much as the drinks. Live Sessions on selected evenings bring saxophonists, singer-songwriters, piano duos and DJs, with dates for October and November 2026 listed on the hotel’s events page. The hotel does not publish bar opening hours or a drinks list online, so check the events page before you go. Pick it for a relaxed evening with music and a retro setting rather than a quiet, serious cocktail.
