La Bohème is a café on the Madridstraat, a quiet side street a minute’s walk from the Kursaal and the promenade. It describes itself as the kind of café its owners felt was missing in Ostend: a place where you come in for one glass and stay for a plate.
The focus is on good wines and fresh aperitifs, served with small plates to share rather than full meals: charcuterie, croquettes, dips and preserves. It is deliberately not a restaurant, so there is no need to plan a dinner around it; drop in for an afternoon drink, an aperitif before dinner elsewhere or a late glass after a show at the Kursaal.
Groups are welcome, dogs too, and there is free wifi. Cards and cash are both accepted.
