About Osteria Marina

Osteria Marina is an Italian brasserie and wine bar on Hendrik Baelskaai, on the Oosteroever, the east bank of Ostend’s harbour. It is run by Vida and Nick and is the casual sibling of Ristorante Marina, the Italian restaurant at number 7a that has been going since 1973. The idea is simple: no reservations, and everyone is welcome at any time of day, whether you want an aperitivo with friends, a glass of wine after work or a spontaneous lunch or dinner.

The menu is short and Italian from start to finish. Antipasti and charcuterie are served all day, from oysters, anchovies and sardines to burrata, parmesan and mozzarella croquettes and cured meats sold by weight. Starters and pasta are served from noon to 3pm and from 5.30pm to 9.30pm, and the pasta list includes cannelloni, bigoli with cacio e pepe or alla gricia, and the ravioli di Ostenda. Tiramisu and affogato are among the desserts, and there is a separate wine list.

The room is warm and low-lit, with a marble-topped bar, brown bar stools and softly glowing arched niches along the wall, and there is a glass-screened terrace with parasols outside. It is open from noon to 11pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday to Sunday, and closed on Wednesday and Thursday; the kitchen stops at 9.30pm.

Osteria Marina took part in the 2026 edition of Ostendaise: North Sea Food Fest, the free summer food festival on the Zeeheldenplein, with its festival dish, Ravioli “Ostenda”.
