About Haut

Haut is a Michelin-starred restaurant on the 28th floor of Sky Tower One, around a hundred metres above Ostend and a short walk from the railway station. Visit Oostende and the Michelin Guide both describe it as the highest restaurant in Belgium. The lift opens onto a pale, quiet dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows and views over the harbour, the town and the sea.

Chef Dimitri Proost leads the kitchen, with maître Randy Degroote in the dining room. The cooking is built around the sea: the Michelin Guide files it as modern French with Asian influences, and the restaurant’s own book names dishes such as raw Ostend oyster, langoustine in bisque with Japanese curry and sea bass in dashi. The tasting format is a six-course menu at 195 euros per person, or you can put together your own three-course menu from the à la carte.

Haut is open Wednesday to Saturday. Lunch guests are welcomed between noon and 1pm and service ends at 4pm; dinner guests arrive between 7pm and 8pm and service ends at 12.30am. It is closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and tables are booked online.

Haut took part in the 2026 edition of Ostendaise: North Sea Food Fest, the free summer food festival on the Zeeheldenplein, with its festival dish, Dumpling Pieterman.
