ICE ICE AMY is an ice-cream shop on Langestraat in the centre of Ostend, and the place where the brand began. Founder Amélie Cobbaert, who trained as a chemical engineer, started selling in Ostend in 2021, first from a cargo bike on the seafront dike. There are now scoop shops in Ghent and Antwerp as well.
The recipe is built without ready-made mixes, egg yolk, stabilisers or emulsifiers, and the milk and cream come from a polder farm in Pervijze. The ice cream is served on freshly baked waffle cones, in a waffle bowl or in a cup. A core range of signature flavours is always available, including Vanilla from Uganda, Salty Caramel and Eclair, while six seasonal flavours change every three months and two limited editions change every few weeks. There is deliberately no sorbet, and there are vegan options.
According to the shop’s own site, it opens from 2pm to 6pm Monday to Thursday, 2pm to 9pm on Friday, noon to 9pm on Saturday and noon to 6pm on Sunday. There is seating inside and a sunny rooftop terrace upstairs. In 2026 the brand also won the Product Award for food at Gault&Millau’s Culinary Innovators awards.
ICE ICE AMY took part in the 2026 edition of Ostendaise: North Sea Food Fest, the free summer food festival on the Zeeheldenplein, with its festival creation, Boule d’Ostende.
