Ensorito

Ensorito is an Italian trattoria on Dorpsstraat in Mariakerke, diagonally opposite the dune church. It is run by chef Anthony and hostess Julie, and it grew out of a small catering business: a restaurant was added at customers’ request and extended in 2013. Anthony’s grandmother came from Reggio di Calabria in southern Italy, and the kitchen leans on Italian classics.

Expect osso buco and pasta alla vongole, fresh pizzas and a changing set of suggestions, with the menu running from sharing plates and pasta to fish and meat main courses. Vegetarian dishes are marked on the menu, there is a children’s menu, and the drinks list covers Italian wines by the glass, spritzes, negronis and non-alcoholic aperitivi. Pizzas can also be taken away, and the website has a separate take-out page.

Lunch is served from noon to 2.30pm and dinner from 6pm to 9pm, Tuesday to Saturday; the restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday. Reservations are taken by phone from 10am on opening days, and the site also has a reservations page.

Ensorito took part in the 2026 edition of Ostendaise: North Sea Food Fest, the free summer food festival on the Zeeheldenplein, with its festival dish, Polpette Siciliana.
