Hotel Royal Astrid

Royal Astrid is a large three-star hotel one street back from the promenade on the western side of Ostend, about 100 m from the beach and a short tram ride from the centre. The coastal tram stops right outside at Koninginnelaan, which makes it easy to explore the rest of the coast without a car.

Its 173 rooms run from standard to executive, with family rooms for four to six people. Six executive rooms are adapted for wheelchair users, with space around the beds and a walk-in shower, and the hotel describes the whole building as wheelchair-friendly apart from the wellness area.

That wellness area, Gautama, covers about 1,000 m² with jacuzzis, saunas, a steam bath, a salt cave and an ice cave; it charges a day fee, while the separate indoor pool is free for hotel guests. There are two restaurants: Odyzee, which is open to non-residents, and Mozart, which serves a set menu to guests on half board. Pets are accepted for a supplement, and private parking can be reserved.
