The Ostendian opened in March 2025 in the new Sky District, between Ostend station and the Mercator marina, and is the first completely new hotel the city has had in about 25 years. It belongs to C-Hotels, the group behind Andromeda and Burlington, but the style could hardly be more different: the whole hotel is decorated in a 1970s and 1980s soul-and-funk theme.
Its 113 rooms range from compact ‘cosy’ rooms to four themed suites, including one built around music and one with a jacuzzi, and every room has air conditioning and its own terrace. The bar has a light-up dance floor and a mirrored ceiling, with live music on some Saturday evenings, and breakfast is a buffet served in ‘The Ballroom’, which doubles as an event space. Guests can use a co-working space free of charge.
The station and the coastal tram are a few minutes’ walk away. There is no hotel car park, but Sky Parking is next door. Dogs are welcome for a nightly fee, except in the breakfast room and the themed suites.
