Belle de mer

Belle de mer is a modern beauty institute in the Vogelzang district, a residential area just south of the centre of Ostend, behind a striking Corten-steel entrance planted with ornamental grasses. It is run by Nathalie, who has more than twenty years of experience, with a pedicurist on Tuesdays.

For a relaxing visit, the body rituals are the highlight: a mud and salt body wrap with massage, or a Dead Sea salt body peeling. Shorter options include a Chinese head, neck and shoulder massage and a foot massage, which are easy to fit into a busy day. The facials use Maria Galland and HydroPeptide, and every skin treatment starts with an analysis under a Smooth Skin Analyser that magnifies the skin forty times.

The treatment rooms are calm and minimalist, with soft wall lights and plenty of space. The institute has its own private parking, which is a real advantage in Ostend. It is closed on Wednesday and Sunday and open until 13:00 on Saturday. Booking is online.
