Ostend-Bruges Airport: Flights, Buses and Parking

Ostend-Bruges Airport explained: holiday flights with TUI fly, the 16-minute bus into Ostend, parking, and which airport to use if you fly from the UK.

Last checked 14 October 2026

Ostend has its own airport, Ostend-Bruges Airport (code OST), just five kilometres south-west of the city centre in Raversijde. It is small, quick and pleasant to use, but it is above all a holiday airport: almost all passenger flights are TUI fly departures to the sun. Before you plan your trip around it, check whether it actually serves your route; for most visitors from abroad, Brussels Airport is the more practical choice.

At a glance

  • Address: Nieuwpoortsesteenweg 887, 8400 Ostend.
  • Airline: TUI fly is the only passenger airline; flights go mainly to Spain, the Canary Islands, Greece, Turkey and Egypt.
  • No UK flights: there are no scheduled flights between Ostend and the UK.
  • Into town: De Lijn bus 60a or 60b from the stop in front of the terminal takes about 16 minutes to Ostend station (€3).
  • Check-in opens two hours before departure; the airport advises arriving an hour and a half before your flight.

Where can you fly from Ostend?

Ostend-Bruges is a leisure airport. In summer 2026 TUI fly operated thirteen routes from Ostend, with the most frequent flights to Malaga and Alicante.

SeasonDestinations
All yearAlicante, Malaga, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Hurghada
Summer onlyPalma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Murcia, Crete (Chania and Heraklion), Rhodes, Antalya, Eskişehir

The airport also handles cargo flights, which is why the runway is so long for such a small terminal: 3,200 metres, enough for wide-bodied freight aircraft. In 2025 just over 400,000 passengers used the airport, the first time since 2019 that it passed that mark.

Flying in from the UK or further afield

Because there are no scheduled flights from the UK or major European hubs, most international visitors to Ostend fly into another airport and continue by train. The Belgian railway network makes that easy.

Getting between the airport and Ostend

Bus

The easiest way into town is the De Lijn bus. Lines 60a and 60b stop at Raversijde Luchthaven, right in front of the terminal. On weekdays a bus leaves for Ostend roughly every ten minutes during the day and every half an hour in the evening, and the ride takes about 13 minutes to the town centre (Stadhuis or Kapellestraat stops) and 16 minutes to Ostend station. A single ticket costs €3 and you can pay with a contactless bank card when you board; a day pass costs €9. Timetables are thinner at weekends and on public holidays, so check the De Lijn app.

Coast tram

There is no tram stop at the airport itself. The nearest coast tram stop, Raversijde Middenlaan, is about 1.2 kilometres away, roughly a 15-minute walk: fine without luggage, less fun with a suitcase. With bags, take the bus.

Taxi and car hire

There is a taxi rank in front of the terminal; the airport’s listed taxi company is Taxibond Oostende (+32 59 70 27 27). The ride to the centre takes about ten minutes. Car hire is offered by a local firm at the Shell station next to the car parks, and TUI fly sells car hire with its flights.

By bike

The centre is about six kilometres away, around a quarter of an hour by bike, and there is bike parking on car park P1 in front of the terminal.

Parking at the airport

Parking L.O. runs four car parks next to the terminal, all open 24 hours a day with number-plate recognition. There is no online booking and no shuttle bus, because none is needed: the furthest car park is about 300 metres from the door.

P2Long stay500100 m

P4Long stay125100 m

Dropping someone off or picking them up? Use the Kiss & Fly area on P1: the first few minutes are free, after that the normal rates apply. The spaces directly in front of the terminal are for taxis and buses only. You pay for parking at the machines in the arrivals hall or on P1, by card or (at one machine) in cash. The operator does not publish its 2026 prices online, so check the boards at the entrance or call Parking L.O. on +32 59 51 17 69.

There are reserved disabled spaces on P1, P2 and P4. A Fastned fast-charging station with four chargers stands next to the Shell station by the car parks.

In the terminal

  • Food and drink: Brasserie-Restaurant Belair on the first floor of the departure hall is open to everyone and looks out over the runway; Grand Café De Horizon is after security.
  • Shops: a duty-free shop and a small newsagent after security, open for every flight.
  • Wi-Fi: free throughout the airport, according to TUI fly.
  • Security: standard EU rules on liquids and electronics. For flights outside the Schengen area there is a passport check after security.

Reduced mobility

The terminal has automatic doors and a lift to the first floor, where the restaurant and accessible toilets are. If you need assistance, request it when you book with TUI fly, or call TUI fly on +32 70 22 00 00 if you have already booked.

Staying near the airport

For an early flight, the ibis budget Oostende Airport is next to the airport and to Domein Raversijde, with the coast tram stopping by the hotel. It is also a short ride from the Atlantikwall open-air museum and the beach at Raversijde.
