Theater Aan Zee (TAZ)
Flanders’ big performing arts festival takes over Ostend for eleven days: theatre, music and dance at more than 40 venues, 28 July to 7 August 2027.

Every summer, Theater Aan Zee (TAZ) turns Ostend into one big stage. The festival celebrates its 30th edition from 28 July to 7 August 2027: eleven days of theatre, music, dance and performance at more than 40 locations across the city, from De Grote Post and the Kursaal to Fort Napoleon, the beach and the Wellington racecourse.
TAZ is known for discovering young Flemish talent alongside established names. WonderWaai is a free zone for children and families, and Chambres d’O brings music, theatre and literature into people’s living rooms.
Most performances are in Dutch, but the music and much of the dance and performance programme work for any audience. The 2027 programme and prices are published online in early summer; in 2026 the festival’s information point was in Leopold Park. Seating is mostly unnumbered.
