About this event

If you are in Ostend on a Thursday morning, head for the centre: the weekly market spreads across three squares. The Wapenplein has clothes and general goods, the Groentemarkt has food (except fish) and the Mijnplein a bit of everything. On Saturday mornings there is a second, smaller market on the Wapenplein and the Groentemarkt.

The markets run from 06:00 to 13:00; from 1 October until the Easter holidays they start an hour later, at 07:00. There is no market on 25 December or 1 January, and during the October funfair the market moves to the Vindictivelaan.

Go early for the best choice and the most local atmosphere. If you come by car, note that the open-air upper level of the Mijnplein car park is closed on Thursday mornings for the market. For fish, walk down to the Vistrap on the Visserskaai instead.

Details can change at short notice. Please check with the organiser before you travel.
