About this event

Horse racing has been part of an Ostend summer since the 1880s, and the Wellington racecourse, just behind the western promenade, still holds a short season every July and August. In 2027 there are nine race days: every Monday from 5 July to 23 August, plus Friday 17 July.

Each race day mixes flat races and trotting, and the evening continues with live music on site. In 2026 the programme alternated between afternoon-and-evening meetings (doors at 15:30, first race around 16:30) and morning meetings (doors at 10:30, first race around 11:45); the 2027 times and prices have not been published yet.

In 2026 entry cost €13 online or €15 at the gate, and children under 10 went in free. The racecourse is wheelchair accessible and dogs on a lead are allowed; food and drink are sold on site. The Renbaan coast tram stop is right outside.
