This large Delhaize on Leopold III-laan is a practical choice if you are self-catering in a holiday apartment in central Ostend: it is a few minutes’ walk from Ostend station and has a big free car park. Delhaize says the store has around 2,000 m² of shop floor, about 15,000 products and roughly 140 parking spaces. Since September 2024 it has been run by independent operators under the Delhaize name, with the same team.
Inside you will find everything for a week’s shopping: fruit and vegetables, a bakery where bread is baked on site throughout the day, a butcher’s and a fish counter, cheese, a fresh sushi stand, roast chicken, ready meals, salads and freshly made sandwiches, plus beer, wine, flowers and Belgian and local products. Click & Collect is available, and there are charging points for electric cars as well as disabled and parent-and-child parking spaces.
Good to know: it opens Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 20:00, and on Sunday from 08:00 to 13:00, which makes it handy for stocking up on the morning you arrive. Check the store page around public holidays.
