Captain Blue Sea Fishing Trips

For anyone who would rather catch their fish than buy it on the quay, Captain Blue runs full-day sea-fishing trips out of Ostend harbour. Boats leave from the Hendrik Baelskaai on the east side of the harbour early in the morning, around eight, and return late in the afternoon, so you get most of a day on the North Sea.

Trips run on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from February to the end of November. You do not need your own equipment: rods can be hired for the day, or you can take a complete gear pack. Whatever you catch is yours to take home.

This is a proper day at sea rather than a pleasure cruise, so dress warmly and bring something for seasickness if you are prone to it. Check-in is at 7:00 at the latest. Children can come from the age of six with an adult. Booking in advance is required, and an e-ticket is slightly cheaper than buying at the office.
