Heerlijk

Heerlijk is a beer restaurant on Nieuwpoortsesteenweg in Raversijde, next to Ostend-Bruges Airport, less than 300 metres from the beach and within walking distance of the Atlantikwall Raversyde heritage site. Beer is the organising idea: the monthly tasting menu can be paired course by course with beers, or with wines by the glass, and the hostess explains each pairing at the table.

Alongside the monthly menu, available with three or five courses, there is a classic card of fish and meat: croquettes, mussels, cod, bouillabaisse, steak and pork cheeks stewed in Rodenbach. The chef is a fan of beef and serves aged cuts, with a different breed on offer most weeks. A lunch menu runs from Wednesday to Saturday, and there is a children’s menu. The beer list leans towards Trappists, old geuzes and local exclusives, and the restaurant has its own tripel, Den Ostensche Baron, created for the Ensor year in 2024.

The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday. Parking is free for up to eight hours in the surrounding streets, but you need to register your number plate at the machine across the road. Online booking is possible for up to eight people; larger groups should phone or email, and group bookings carry a deposit of €10 per person.

Heerlijk took part in the 2026 edition of Ostendaise: North Sea Food Fest, the free summer food festival on the Zeeheldenplein, with its festival dish, Bot Verde.
