Hotel Ambassadeur

Hotel Ambassadeur is on the Wapenplein, Ostend’s main square, in the middle of the shopping streets and about ten minutes’ walk from the station. It is a family-run three-star hotel: owner Bieke rebuilt the hotel and its restaurant in 2006 and still runs both.

Resto Arno’s on the ground floor serves Belgian classics, regional fish and North Sea shrimp, and is also where breakfast is served. Dogs are welcome in both the hotel and the restaurant for a small nightly fee. On the seventh floor there is a private sauna that guests can book by the hour at reception, and a meeting room for up to 30 people looks out over the square.

The hotel has no car park of its own, but the Mijnplein public car park is about 100 m away. Staying here puts you right by the Thursday and Saturday morning markets and the Sunday flower market on the square, with the beach and the Visserskaai each a short walk away.
