Hotel Du Parc is an Art Deco landmark on Marie-Joséplein, about 100 m from the sea and next to Leopold Park and the Casino-Kursaal. It opened in 1880 as Hôtel de Suède, took its current name in 1906 and was raised to six floors with its present façade in 1931. During the Second World War the German command ran Ostend from the building, which came through the war undamaged.
The hotel was restored in 2023. Rooms range from small ‘tiny cosy’ doubles to two suites that keep original features from the late 1920s, including a freestanding bath. There is a lift and air conditioning, and family rooms are available. Breakfast is charged separately.
On the ground floor, Café Du Parc is a classic grand café, open from breakfast until late evening and rated by Gault&Millau. The hotel has no parking of its own; the Kursaal underground car park is next door. The coastal tram stops right outside, and pets are not allowed.
